A tag to a brief moment in The Search sequel comic for ATLA.

"You've had the letter all night. Why didn't you burn it when you had the chance? Tell me, dear brother. Why?"

Some nights he still dreamed of the wind in his hair and soft voices around a campfire, and woke on silk sheets choking with homesickness.

Sequel-ish thing for the previous thing I posted. It's not really going up anywhere else 'cause it's not really complete or anything.

AU-type continuation of the theme.

I've decided to set aside this blogspace for any ficbits I feel like posting, whether they are whole or not. Ideas, blurbs, plot bunnies, and other randomness.

Don't expect too much from the stuff here, as these are not going to be completed works, nor even very long. This is for practice and sharing, commentary, suggestion, enthusiasm, concrit, and keeping me thinking about plunnies—any plunnies. Some will be oldish, some newish, some dropped in piping hot and others pulled up from the depths of history to re-polish.

For now, an inaugural oneshot for Rise of the Guardians, first drafted in 2013.

My geekdom knows no bounds; I never know what might set a muse off. Usually nothing that I need to be working on at any given moment. But here it is; I wrote something a couple weeks back after seeing TRON Classic and TRON: Legacy afresh. Has nothing to do with anime of any sort, nor is it complete--it's part of a much larger idea (when is it ever not, with me?) so I'll just call this a creative exercise. A demonstration, if you will, that I can still write somewhat. ^^; That I still know how to type.

Title: TRON: untitled so far
Rating: Teen, for angst, but what the heck it's from a Disney movie.
Notes/Warnings: Spoilers for TRON and T:L including secret identities. But please, feel free to go watch the movies! Campy fun.
Summary/Info: Takes place during/right after the end of TRON: Legacy. A warrior falls, and rises.

Hope you like!

I have a nice, long, quiet weekend ahead to work on more consequential stuff. The family is embarking on a trip to the State Fair on Saturday-Monday to participate in a competition with their riding club; I'll be holding down the fort. Blessed stillness!

Some more successful authors than me have suggested that I complete stories before posting them officially. I think I will be trying that for a while, see if it gets me to finish more. If I post any unfinished things to journal for perusal they will be friendlocked.

Otherwise encouragement (read that: Kick In The Pants) for story finishing is appreciated! Stuff like RT needs to get done. ^_^

Chinese history final out of the way. Whew. I think I did okay. One more final to go, and then I get VACATION!!

And wow, the fog today is unbelievable. @_@ It's like flying through a cloud and makes driving scary. From the front of the library I can't even see the building across the plaza lawn, something less than 60 yards away.

Now to go study for the last, and worst final. x_x
btailweaver: wanted (wanted)
I dunno, would this count as a fic challenge, or what?

Just an idea to feed plunnies, but which has probably been done before: A funny DC fic, wherein Kuroba Kaito (and possibly his friend Nakamori Aoko) finds himself--absolutely, completely by total accident, not something Kid planned--tangled up in a murder case overseen by one Edogawa Conan himself. ^_^; Possibly as one of the suspects; police present and everything. Not a happy camper, and trying to avoid Conan's scrutiny as much as possible ("Don't look at me; goofy high school student, nothing more"). What does he do now?

(Has nothing to do with any of my current fics.)

Just as an example... )

^_^ Back to work for me; doing ficcage at lunchtime, yay....
btailweaver: wanted (wanted)
[--glared into the mirror, scowling at his outfit. "Gah, this is so lame! I look like a geeky high school student."

Daisuke grinned cheekily at him. "News flash, Dark--as of four PM yesterday, you are a geeky high school student. Well, maybe not geeky..."

"Che." The thief tugged at his collar, looking halfway disgusted. "This is not my look, baka."

"That's the point, isn't it? Unless you want half the city police force after you the moment you set foot out the front door--"]

Whee, off on another tangent again! @_@ Gonna have so much scrap written by the end of the day I won't know where to put it all! Egads, the office is boring today. -_- I get done with stuff too fast, and with Uncle Boss gone there's really nothing more to do but twiddle my thumbs and punch numbers occasionally...

Blah. Okay. Cross your fingers for me--next stop, RT or bust.

[--and long moments passed as Al just stared at him, until he began to fidget, looking down and away and supremely uncomfortable as nerves and shame began to supercede his previous anger. For some reason he couldn't read the motionless, expressionless armor just then and it unnerved him--he could hardly stand to look at himself anymore and the thought of anyone, even his brother, staring at him like that...

"What are you looking at?" he growled at his feet, trying to hide the flush creeping up his face. "Quit staring already!"

But instead of gasping in horror, or bursting out laughing, or a million other things Ed had been expecting--and had tried to prepare himself to deal with--Al just let out a deep, weary breath and somehow managed to look both exasperated and sympathetic all at once. "Brother," he sighed wearily, almost as if he'd been expecting this, "what have you gotten yourself into this time?"]

Gack. Now we're writing FMA! O_o Just more scribbles and sketches, but....jeeze! I haven't even finished my coffee! @_@ Brain-chan no baka can't make up her mind again! *grump, grouch, growl* And I wanted to finish the darn GW Plunnie and get some TWD done for Sara and work on RT a bit.... GRAR!

Gonna work on RT at lunch even if I have to murder Brain-chan to get away with it. And no, Conan will not find out.

it lives!

Ye gods, she's alive! Can we believe it?

*sigh* Well, life goes on. I kinda kick-started the writing a bit by buying myself some new anime (yes, I went and got schnookered by two new series! Sue me!), and getting all re-excited helped a lot. (I would still love to acquire more DC and such, since I'm trying so hard and RT is still suffering flatness syndrome.) So I'm pleased to be writing again, even if it's a bit stilted, but at least it sort of gets the ball rolling.

Just to help convince you I'm indeed alive and not completely out of it, I thought I'd share a bit. It's a crossover, involving Peacemaker Kurogane (which I'm still new-ish at, so please forgive).

A brush with danger )

Well, I hope that was entertaining. I only have the first four volumes of PMK anime and have seen about three of the manga continuation, so my facts on events are a bit shaky...but...here's hoping it didn't sound too foolish. There's my little snippet for today...back to work on important things, like seeing if RT will function or if all my RK stuff is dead. *sigh* Brain-chan's always asleeep when I need her. -_-

I'm hoping to catch up with some folks in chats. See you then!

Here ya go; I grabbed a moment to sneak this aboard. Friends can have a look-see; nobody laugh too hard, this is a very fluffy piece of ficcage, inspired out of Icka's much more high-quality Red Stone series. It's sort of a "scene insert," for a point in time that isn't specifically written out in Icka's fic. Maybe it happened this way, maybe it didn't (it probably didn't), but this is my cute and WAFFy way of seeing it. (Could also be an exercise in fluff since I've been so serious with Coming Home lately. Gawd, it's almost time and I'm still not finished.....! ;_; Work is killing me.)

So here it is, the long-awaited (and much-dreaded) fluffy piece:

Ring of Toadstools )

Again, I'm sorry for not showing up, y'all. Work is mind-numbing and then I'm dead tired when I come home, so I flop and stare at the walls for way too long. -_- My feet hurt. Now I'm gonna go crash and get up to do it all over again. Whee. Oh well, I have a day off on Wednesday, so I'm hoping like hell I can use that day to finish Coming Home. Please pray for me, y'all! I wanna make it this time!

Love & Hugs

Don't ever let me feed Brain-chan two large cups of strong coffee again. Morning is one thing; caffiene in the afternoon is insane.

Nor should we ever ponder RT while staring at a steaming pot of tea.

Short ficcie-type thing -- Attention Hog: The Perfect Revenge )

Now that that's out of our system...

^_^ Think I'll return to my regularly scheduled intelligence. See y'all later!

Um, is it a bad thing to write ficcage for a series you haven't even seen yet?

If it is, let me know, 'cause I just did.

And now I feel like a baka. *smunks self* To save face I'd blame my favorite Professional Bad Influences, but since it's all Brain-chan's fault in the end I'll just take a moment and go strangle her with her own tail.

*ahem* Er. Anyway. Anyone who might possibly know which series I'm talking about is welcome to come take a look. Those who don't probably shouldn't bother. You won't have to know what's wrong with me that way. ^_^

Songfic. Sap. Weirdness. You Have Been Warned.

Melody In Silence )

And if Brain-chan has had enough with her side-trips, we shall go back to working on RT. Thank you.

Yup, still raining.

Had a rather freakish morning, waking up late and scrambling off to work. How am I so laid back now? No clue, really, but suspect my attachment to rainy days might have something to do with it. *purrrrs because the endless rains of Autumn may have just begun*

Either that, or it's because I wrote something all angsty and sniffly and terrible and it's gonna end on such a waffy note, too. But I can't think of a better way to spend a rainy afternoon.

Whew. Good solid chunk of typing, that. Much accomplished. Story's almost done.

Remind me to beat Brain-chan to death when I have a spare moment. I don't want to be sleepless like this any more for a good long time to come.

Did I get angsty? Yes. Did I get weird? Indeed. Did I get strangely metaphysical? Hell yeah. Is it only gonna get worse? -_- Uh-huh.

And here's the results of my long and difficult labors:

Ragnarok Rewritten: A Trickster's Tears -- Part 2 )

Only one more bit to go. Then I can get back to the business of being funny. -_- Though I can't seem to keep the waff out of that either. Smunk me, I'm a Waff Machine. It's compulsive waffyness, I just can't help it. Waff waff waff waff...

Now I sound like a duck with a lisp. -_-

Anyway, got work to do. Hopefully to finish the Loki funny story and get it out of my system before Brain-chan cooks up anything else. Or it may already be too late. *Brain-chan makes note to have RS look up Old Norse Wedding Traditions and find a Map Of Asgard* @_@

Aaarrrrrgh....I think I found my spare moment. C'mere, Brain-chan...
btailweaver: DC is my big fandom (Default)
Still rainy, so that's good. Nice cool day.

-_- But I'm tired. My frenetically insane Idea Machine, dear little Brain-chan (whom we all know and love), decided to wake me up at four blinkin' o'clock in the morning with a plunnie. And had me tossing and turning the rest of my sleeptime away because I would not get up and write it, because Dammit I Have Work In The Morning.

Bleh. Needed lots of coffee. Still do.

But Brain-chan, insistent little snit that she is, ensured that it got written anyway, even if it wasn't on her timetable. So here it is. Skippy-doo-dah.

Ragnarok Rewritten: A Trickster's Tears )

I'll have to finish it when I can. *sigh* My current Rate of Writing Speed is substantially hampered by my crankiness.

And for those of you who prefer a bit lighter fare, the conclusion of the recent Loki funny-plunnie should be accomplished soon. Containing a few oopses, a few interruptions, and plenty of ice cream.

Hm. I want some too...

Do I sound excited? Heh. Blah. Am definitely matching my mood button. (*grouse grump growl*) Hopefully I will perk up before I snarl at anyone I actually know. >_< I hate being tired. Sure, I can stay up all night writing, but when I want sleep I want sleep. And when I don't get it, it shows. Snarkety snark snark.....

Hm. A small thought to send in ickaimpIcka's direction. Regarding the Norse Hell freezing over...I'm not entirely sure, but I think that Norse Hell, located in a part of Niflheim, is a place of eternal Winter.

Guess the Vikings in the cold north seas thought that freezing their a$$es off was a lot worse than...*ahem* warmer weather.
btailweaver: DC is my big fandom (Default)
Today it actually rained. Rained! After weeks and months of very unusual summer-hot weather. @_@ It has never been 110 degrees before, as long as I've lived here. But today it rained! ^_^ I love rainy days. I can sit inside, listen to the rain, and write stuff at my nice li'l desk by the window. *happy sigh* And it's nice and cool so my window's open, and rain smells so sweet and fresh....

Ah, today is a writing day, yes.

^_^ So here's the results of some of that. More Loki! A little more of this crazy fic from last time. I'm still working on it, and it's progressing nicely. Here, have a look:

And if that's not bad enough, we still have more insanity to come. @_@ Can I possibly get any worse?

Yeah. Maybe I should go write something Saiyuki for a while, just to let Brain-chan cool off. ^_~ We do have so much fun torturing chibi-detectives. Hee!

Fun, yes....

PS: ^_^ See the piccie up at the top? The one with Shinichi which makes my li'l LJ look so darn kewl? That's all thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ickaimp. Must thank her again.

THANK YOU ICKA!! ^____^

Back again to test out the LJ some more! This time we try....ficcage! ^_^

Guess this spot is going to be for those snippets and bits that don't fit elsewhere, or are completely unpostable otherwise. Please note that for me, this would mean extreme Weirdness. ^_^;; You have been warned. Prepare Thyself.

And for my next trick....Matantei Loki Ragnarok! *applause light comes on* Yes? No? Maybe? Er, anyway, if you want to read my first attempt, here goes. Fluff, humor, perhaps weird enough, @_@ I dunno. It's my first time (be gentle!) and I became hopelessly Loki/Mayura without realizing it, soooo......

^_^;; well then, here's at least the first part...

I suppose this whole idea should be entertaining....I hope. If not, oh well. If too OOC, smack me upside the head. ^_^ If it's just too stupid...well, that's kinda to be expected from me...

Anyhow, more later!
